Kaukauna manufacturing company with 60 employees is seeking a Direct Hire Accounting Specialist and HR Support candidate. Significant growth in past 8 years offers opportunity to grow in this role! It is a business casual, friendly environment with flexible work hours. 

PURPOSE:
The Accounting Specialist and HR Support role is responsible for performing accounting functions. In addition, this person will assist with human resource record keeping and support to support achievement of the company's mission, vision and objectives; and compliance to all applicable laws.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST AND HR SUPPORT:

  • Oversee processing of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Enter/ verify all hours related to payroll and run reports. (3rd party CPA firm processes payroll, pays taxes, etc.) Ensure timely processing of all year-end documents including but not limited to W-2's, 1099's, etc.
  • Serve as point of contact for all payroll/benefits inquiries 
  • Oversee and maintain contracts with related vendors
  • Work with the President and CFO to prepare monthly and annual operating budgets and other reporting
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements. Performs monthly reconciliations of bank accounts / Monitor cash flow. Supervise the recording of cash receipts and bank deposits
  • Ensure accurate and timely compliance with all duties related to EDD, IRS, Workers Compensation, and the Department of Labor
  • Maintain employee personnel files and update Employee Handbook/Benefits Manual
  • Manage group benefits administration including health, dental and life insurance, 403B program, PTO, and COBRA administration and compliance. Reconcile monthly benefits statements
  • Manage worker's compensation administration
  • Process background checks and all Department of Justice clearances, ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal laws, licenses and accreditations
  • Maintain all required insurance policies 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership

QUALIFICATIONS:

An ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting (HR experience is not required for this role)
  • 2-4-year degree in accounting, finance, or similar area
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs, especially Excel  (They use SAGE 100 but can train if candidate has other accounting software experience.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Very good leadership skills / Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A self-starter who demonstrates flexibility and adaptability
  • Efficiency and attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills

HOURS FOR ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST AND HR SUPPORT:  First shift, M-F.   Flexible hours, with the business core hours being 9-2pm and employees starting anywhere from 6:30am-9am!

PAY/SALARY: $50,000-$55,000. Benefits: Health, Short term/Long term insurance and life insurance paid by employer, 401k with match, profit sharing, and wellness program. (Dental and vision are also offered however they are 100% paid by employee.)
